Margot expected a socially upscale, moneyed ‘retirement life’ when she married widowed Paul Salerno. Paul planned to retire to warm Florida. Now she’s living in a common rental west of moneyed Palm Beach society. She's going to find the society that is worthy of her & inadvertently is on a track to her 4th divorce.
You'll never know what I'm going to let you in on. A character. A location. A tidbit of - you'll have to subscribe to find out.
Stacked in the back of a closet are a plethora of folders filled with typewritten pages of books I’ve written that have never seen the light of day once I wrote ‘The End’. Why?
Life gets in the way. Easier to write than move it forward.
But the stories keep roiling about my brain. Each story getting replaced by another – but never forgotten!
It’s time for me to tell those stories.
Gail-Lee McDermott, though not born in the South Florida resort City of Delray Beach, considers it her geographic root. A now vibrant resort, it’s not unusual to overhear a stranger’s one-sided cell discussion – reality provides material for her books.
She lives in an older ‘pretty bunker’ in Delray Beach with her adopted pets – a pair of wild, iguana-chasing American Ragamuffin Terrier brothers, a ten-pound, mango-eating Shih Tzu, and a jaded nearly twenty-year old cat. She spends her non-writing time indulging in machete gardening.
She looks forward to that next overheard conversation to send her brain roiling into a new story.
